Behold the power of healthy eating....
Sarah Rutti requested a picture of my Banana Oatmeal Breakfast Bar, so here it is. Unfortunately, this isn't the greatest picture, but you get the idea. Oh, and I promised Sarah Rutti a fun pic, so here you go:
So, I decided to take a random picture wearing my new Canadian Poncho while on the phone. He he, I'm kinda weird, aren't I? Oh well. I hope you're laughing with me. And so, I wish you all a very good night indeed.

Banana-Oatmeal Breakfast Bars
Yes! I have baked my very first breakfast bars, which I find ever so exciting. They are relatively healthy, and fit into my attempt to budget expenses quite nicely, thank you very much. And so, at the request of RochStar22, I am going to post the recipe for your eating pleasure. 1 1/2 cup flour

You Betcha!
Am I out of it? Ooyeah! :p LOL. I know, sad but true... I haven't posted in ages. SO, the least I can do it provide some pictures for your entertainment. Have a good weekend!
OK, so the facts are in, and it seems one sickness that many of my friends have suspected for years has been confirmed. AHHHHhhh! I suffer from Chronic Studyosis. YES! The clinical term for perfectionist, over-study, college, nerd, student (although I do have class and style, so the term "nerd" here solely relates to enjoying of studying and school to an abnormal extent). :D
Yes, well, anyways, some of my time lately has been spent on studying and physics...
But also Mrs. Perl, The Wonder Bobby (i.e. Grandmother of the family I live with) passed away, and I've been sad all week because of that. I think this picture sums it up perfectly:
But, life goes on. SO! Here's something happy and fun.
I was going to put this up on the story blog while people were waiting for my update, but I never quite got there. ;D
This picture caught my fancy. I found it while doing a search for an "orb" for the chain story "Secret Discoveries."
Lastly, I did a search for "studying" and this picture popped up. These are two characters from an anime which I obsessed over last year, and I thought the picture caught their youth and excitement for learning quite nicely.
OK. I hope you enjoyed this super long post (if you had the time to read it). Have a good night!

NO WAY!?! As Sarah Rutti so aptly put it.
Yes way. I got a bracha from Rav Ovadya Yosef today. So, here is the story in all its glorious detail:
My new friend Penina and myself went out for a short coffee break this morning. When we were hurrying back into the building, Penina happened to look across the street and exclaim, "Oh my gosh, do you know who that is?" Of course, I immediately recognized the garments Rav Ovadya Yosef always wears, but I just couldn't believe that THE Rav Ovadya Yosef, the gadol hador (sage of the generation) of Sephardic Jewry worldwide, was standing outside the Modern Orthodox school across the street from Touro College. I, in turn, suggested that we immediately go get a bracha (blessing/prayer on our behalf) from the Rav. As we were speaking a car pulled up, and, getting nervous that the Rav was about to drive away, Penina and I practically ran across the street to speak with him. So, at this point we were kind of standing behindRav Ovadya Yosef, and Penina had told me that I would have to speak. Of course, Rav Ovadya Yosef was talking to people, but I just couldn't let this opportunity pass, and I suppose they hadn't spotted us coming across the street, so I did the only think I could think of - I ever so politely interruptedRav Ovadya Yosef. (Ah!!)
"Slicha," I said in a loud voice; everyone turned in my direction. "Efshar l'kabel bracha me harav?" (The literal translation is, "Excuse me, would it be possible to receive a blessing from the Rabbi?")At this point, Rav Ovadya Yosef gave Penina and myself a nice bracha, something along the lines of your hearts prayers should be answered, you should find a nice shidduch (marriage partner), and generally be successful. (I kind of wasn't paying attention to the first part because I wanted to hear him give me a bracha for a shidduch, but it really was a nice bracha. You know, the multi-part type that is thorough, thoughtful, and powerful.) AH!!! When he looked at me I began to tremble, and I was like that for 15 minutes afterwards. I mean, I'm still excited, even now!!! Yeah! Anyways, when I get married super soon, I'm sending Rav Ovadya Yosef a thank you letter with the wedding invitation. :D (bli neder/im yirtzeh Hashem!)
P.S. Rav Ovadya Yosef was NOT wearing sun glasses. I was surprised and almost didn't recognize him because he always wears sunglasses. Maybe that's why his gaze was so powerful...
Some other miscellaneous nice things happened today, but this took the cake. All in all, I hope your day is just as awesome as mine has been!

Show Me the Way to Go Home
So, here's the first story: I was looking at Sarah Rutti's last blog entry when I saw that she wrote she was tired. This gave me the random idea to search "show me the way to go home" using the Google search engine. In an unsurprising turn of events, the first entry to pop up was wikipedia. Now, this turned out to be a fun find and I quote:
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Show_Me_the_Way_to_Go_Home"Show Me the Way to Go Home" is a folk song and drinking tune. It was made famous with its 1925 adaptation by the pseduonymous "Irving King" (the British songwriting team James Campbell and Reginald Connelly). It tells the story of an intoxicated bar patron trying to go home after a night of drinking. It is believed of English origin but has spread to Ireland and North America, where it is also commonly sung.
The song can be modified to be used in swing dancing.
The lyrics are: Show me the way to go home I'm tired and I want to go to bed I had a little drink about an hour ago And it went straight to my head Where ever I may roam Over land or sea or foam You will always hear me singing this song Show me the way to go home
Indicate the way to my abode I'm fatigued and I want to retire I had a spot of beverage sixty minutes ago And it went right to my cerebellum Where ever I may perambulate On land, or sea or atmospheric vapor You can always hear me crooning the melody Indicate the way to my abode
Backwards version: (first verse only)
Show me the home to go way I'm bed and I want to go to tired I had a little hour bout a drink ago and it went head to my straight where ever I may ever over sea, foam or land you will always hear me songin this sing show me the home to go way...
Ha ha. SO, that made me smile.
Here's the second story: This is related to the topic at hand as will soon become apparent. So, tonight in class I was REALLY tired, to the point that I couldn't keep my eyes open and I was literally nodding off in class. (You know that head snapping motion you make when you keep falling into a dreaming state, but you quickly try to wake yourself. - Yeah, I was that tired.) Anyways, I remedied the problem by getting up and purchasing some Mike n' Ikes. And thus, I steadfastly attended what would should have been engaging math classes were in not for certain unnamed annoying class mates. *Grrr*
Bottom line: I have to try to get to bed, like 1 hour ago, so we'll shmooze some other time. Have a great Shabbos!

No such thing as too much fun
So, I spent the day at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Jacksonville, NJ with my brother and I had a blast. And I quote:
Looking for thrills? Well, you've found them. In fact, you've found some of the fastest, tallest, wildest, gut-wrenchingest rides in the country-including a few record-breakers. Want to see exactly what you're getting into? Use the quick and easy guide below to learn more.
Anywho, here is info about one of these record breakers:
Info Source: http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/rides/K ingdaka.aspxThe fierce Kingda Ka is simply the tallest, fastest roller coaster on earth. This remarkable thrill ride breaks all world records for coaster speed and height, zooming from 0 to 128 mph in 3.5 seconds and catapulting you 45 stories into the sky.
Get propelled horizontally at 128 mph via hydraulic launch Hang on tight as you shoot 90 degrees into a quarter-turn Blast 456 feet high, then plunge vertically into a 270-degree spiral Experience weightlessness as you swoop down a valley and up a 129-foot camel hump
Ooyeah. I liked this one. Also, another super cool ride I went on was "Superman." Here, you were in a horizontal seat with your face opposite the ground, and you felt as though you were literally flying. It was really incredible and interesting to ride. :D Quick Info:
Info source: http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/rides/Superman_Ultimate_Flight.aspxDiscover what it's like to be the Man of Steel on Superman: Ultimate Flight—the only coaster of its kind in the Northeast. Lie face down and soar head-first through a twisted steel track, diving into highly banked curves, spirals and a jaw-dropping, pretzel-shaped inverted loop.
Experience the sensation of flight Soar from the top of the ride down to a ground-level loop Climb the steep "horseshoe" curve and high-speed spiral, then tumble down a 360-degree in-line roll
OK, bed time. Ta ta for now... :D

Feeling Left Out
So... now that Sarah Rutti updated her blog(s) I feel obligated to do the same, but I don't really have the time. So instead I'll just let you know that B"H all my classes are going well, although I didn't finish my hw for this week yet. I have to get to bed soon so that I can wake up early and go food shopping, but it's all worth it! I'll try to put something more worthwhile up sometime soon, but for now all is well, and I can't wait for tomorrow! But more on that later... >)
Picture: So there are a few reasons why the picture to the left is up.
1. I thought Sarah Rutti would like it.
2. I wasn't sure what picture to put up so I searched "bored anime" on photobucket.com and this popped up. I thought it was so random that I couldn't help posting it. LOL.
OK, have a good night (and protect your feet).
